Can anyone enlighten me as to whether Khalifman finds a clear advantage for white after 5. Bd3 Bc5 and 5...Nf6? I have not seen this book but I recall in earlier volumes of this series (eg vol 2 on the main line Lopez) it seems black is struggling in every line. What do people think of Vol 8?

Great books that have changed the life of the 1.e4 player! If you want, you can seriously study (even though it is advisable not to follow the repertoire 100%). Else you can remain ignorant.

Previously only option 2) was a possibility.... (no matter how many Informators, YB or books/Databases you had)

Either a serious analysis with some explanation was missing or just a horrible database with meaningless statistics was all there was to study.

Thanks for the fantastic books!

P.S. Too many? Well, short cuts were even worse (dreadful lines with absolutely no punch...) That's Chess for you these days and there is always option 2)....  Wink

The concept of the series is to offer an advice against all known or interesting Black options against the proposed repertoire. It is difficult to foretell how many pages are needed to achieve this goal. But I'm not aware of changes of plans which envisage ten volumes altogether.

Well after looking at the contents of Vols 8 and 9, I'm wondering how many volumes this series is going to run to? 12?
