This is a nice opportunity to test my Swedish again.

(For Alias, to prove him that reading Dutch is not that difficult either!  Wink )

A little test for MNb, reading is one thing - understanding spoken swedish (or dutch!) is quite a different matter. And the hardest test is of course comedy, if you don't laugh you don't understand...
But towards the end we get some swenglish as well.

Btw, the clip's from the show Hipp Hipp, which is recorded here in Malmö. Smiley

Playing 24.Ng6! instead of 24.Qb1 also seemed like an important improvement - it would be very strange if black wouldn't be objectively much worse after move 14 when white has such a gigantic lead in development!

But Berg is one of those rare players you really have to beat three times per game (in the opening, middlegame and ending) to get the full point.

Nice translation, MNb. Some corrections:

"poängen är att vit efter 6... Lxc5 7.Sxd5 vinner bonde" is "the point is that white wins a pawn after 6...Bxc5 7.Nxd5"

"svarts tvingas till 8... Kf8 vad jag kan se och vit måste stå bättre" is "from what I can see, black is forced to play 8...Kf8 and white must be better"

Dutch seems to be quite close to german.
Some examples:
Paard=horse (Pferd)
Neem=take (nehmen)
Probeer=try (probieren)

Don't check me with no lightweight stuff.

This is a nice opportunity to test my Swedish again. I think the most important note is:

"Ett intressant försök att straffa svarts öppning var 5. exd5 exd5 (5... cxd4 6. Lb5+) 6. dxc5 Sc6 (poängen är att vit efter 6... Lxc5 7. Sxd5 vinner bonde på grund av att 7... Dxd5 8. Lb5+ vinner damen.) 7. Lf4 Lxc5 8. Sb5 och svarts tvingas till 8... Kf8 vad jag kan se och vit måste stå bättre"

An interesting try to punish Black's opening play were 5.exd5 exd5 (5...cxd4 6.Bb5+) 6.dxc5 Nc6 (chances are with White after 6...Bxc5 as 7.Nxd5 wins a pawn based on 7...Qxd5 8.Bb5+ winning the queen) 7.Bxf4 Bxc5 8.Nb5 and Black is forced to play 8...Kf8 and one can say that White must be better.

This translation is made without education or dictionary. But it is not so difficult. In Dutch:

Een interessante poging om zwarts opening af te straffen was .... (...6...Lxc5 7.Pxd5 wint een pion op grond van 7...Dxd5 8.Lb5+ met damewinst) 7.Lxf4 Lxc5 8.Pb5 dwingt zwart tot 8...Kf8 .... en wit moet beter staan.
(For Alias, to prove him that reading Dutch is not that difficult either!  Wink )

Did you see this game today at Wijk aan Zee?

N. Kosintseva - Berg 0-1
1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5 3.Nc3 h6 4.Bd3 c5 5.dxc5 d4 6.Nce2 Nc6 7.Nf3 Bxc5 8.0-0 Nge7 9.a3 e5 10.Ng3 h5 11.b4 Bd6 12.Nh4 Ng8 13.Nhf5 Bf8 14.b5 Nb8

Now all black's pieces are on their original squares, yet I think black is better: black can win a piece for two pawns now and ends up winning the game.

Cheers. Cool
