Wow, you're right. Because 5. Nb1 Ng8, and now white is in a real fix, because pawns can't move backwards.

I would play ng1, and let black try and cope with the burden of the extra move.

Heh. Ok. Well I think I played 5. Bg5 Bxc3+ 6. bxc3 c5 7. e3 Qa5 8. Bxf6 Qxc3+ 9. Nd2 gxf6 10. Rc1 Qb2 11. Qc2 Qxc2 12. Rxc2, and then I don't remember. It was only a 5 minute game, after all. I guess this means I have to learn something about the Nimzo, so I can win these important 5-minute games...

Haha.  Smiley
But seriously either Qc2 or Bg5 is good leading to a tempo up on standard lines.

Nimzo where white has an extra move

This is only of vague importance, but I played a blitz game last night on FICS, and the opening moves were: 1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 e6 3. Nf3 Be7. Now, normally, I play the 4. a3 QID, but here I thought, "What the hell, he's not going to waste a move to play the Nimzo now." So I play 4. Nc3, and of course he replies 4. ...Bb4. Now this has got to be pretty good for white, right? Unfortunately, I lack any serious knowledge of the Nimzo, so I think I only lost the game on time in an equal-ish position. What do you guys think? How does white exploit the extra move?
