Is 18...Qa4 a move?

yea while reading Cox's book, i was curious why Cox did not recommend 18. Qb3, as it looks like a risk-free move and is known for some time (it's even mentioned in NCO!).

I am currently playing in a thematic CC Benoni tournament and in one of the games (which I have now won as white), I had the following side-line in the main line of the Modern Main Line:
1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 c5 3.d5 e6 4.Nc3 exd5 5.cxd5 d6 6.e4 g6 7.Bd3 Bg7 8.h3 0-0 9.Nf3 b5 10.Bxb5 Nxe4 11.Nxe4 Qa5+ 12.Nfd2 Qxb5 13.Nxd6 Qa6 14.N2c4 Rd8 15.Bf4 Nd7 16.0-0 Nb6 17.Nxb6 axb6

To me the move I chose, namely 18.Qb3 looks better than 18.Qf3 that Cox recommends (and which I seriously considered during the game). My objection to the latter is 18...b5 19.Ne4 c4! 20.Rfe1 Bb7 21.Nc5 Qb6 22.Nxb7 Qxb7 which seems to be quite okay for black. On the other hand after 18.Qb3 it looks to me like white has defintiely pretty good chances of achieving an advantage, certainly black is just obviously lost after 23.a5 (i.e. after just another 5 moves). There are a couple of deviations before that, where white is only better, but I like this variation better.
18...Bb7 19.Rfd1 Rd7 20.a4 Rad8 21.Nxb7 Qxb7 22.d6 Bf8 23.a5 Bxd6 24.Bg5 Ra8 25.axb6 Rxa1 26.Rxa1 Be5 27.Re1 Bd4 28.Bh6 Rd8 29.Qb5 Qb8 30.b7 Be5 31.b4 Bc3 32.Bg5 Bxe1 33.Bxd8 Bxf2+ 34.Kxf2 Qf4+ 35.Ke2 Qe4+ 36.Kd2 Qf4+ 37.Kc2 Qe4+ 38.Kb3 Qd5+ 39.Ka3 cxb4+ 40.Qxb4 Qd3+ 41.Kb2 Qe2+ 42.Kc3 1-0

A somewhat similar game I had in the same tournament and which also ended well for me was the following:
1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 c5 3.d5 e6 4.Nc3 exd5 5.cxd5 d6 6.e4 g6 7.Bd3 Bg7 8.h3 0-0 9.Nf3 b5 10.Bxb5 Nxe4 11.Nxe4 Qa5+ 12.Nfd2 Qxb5 13.Nxd6 Qa6 14.N2c4 Nd7 15.0-0 Nb6 16.Nxb6 axb6 17.Bg5 Bd7 18.Re1 Bxb2 19.Bh6 b5 20.Bxf8 Rxf8 21.Ne4 Bd4 22.Rc1 Qxa2 23.Rxc5 Bxc5 24.Nxc5 Qa7 25.Ne4 f5 26.Ng5 h6 27.Nf3 Qc5 28.d6 Rf6 29.Qa1 Rxd6 30.Qa8+ Kf7 31.Qd8 Rd5 32.Qh8 Qf8 33.Ne5+ Rxe5 34.Qxe5 Qe8 35.Qc3 Be6 36.Ra1 Qd7 37.Qe3 Kf6 38.Qxh6 Qg7 39.Qc1 Qd7 40.Ra6 Kf7 41.Qa1 1-0
Here black chose to implement the axb6 idea whithout first playing Rd8 and in reply I tried something else than in the previous game, namely 17.Bg5.
