For White or for Black?

For Black, 7...Nc6 is definitely not the only way to play the KID, and many on this list will tell you that 7...Na6 is perfectly viable.

For White, I still have a soft spot for the Saemisch, and I suspect that White will find ways to confront 6...c5 and make Black's life miserable.

As White, I must confess that I do play the line you mention and head for the Bayonet, but I used to play the Saemisch.  I'd recommend reading through some old threads on this forum for some ideas...

Does it seem like there are ANY possibly potent lines in the King's Indian apart from the following?
1 d4 Nf6 2 c4 g6 3 Nc3 Bg7 4 e4 d6 5 Nf3 O-O 6 Be2 e5
7 O-O Nc6 8 d5 Ne7

I don't mean lines that are annoying, I mean lines that could be objectively very strong. Could the fianchetto lines pose a serious theoretical challenge?
