Yes but after Be2, h5 is to come followed by Ng4 - this is highly effective if white has castled!

I have played this two times, when I was young ...
This is a reversed Boden Gambit: 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nf6 3.Bc4 Nxe4 4.Nc3 Nxc3 5.dxc3.
As the Boden Gambit already is dubious, to say it friendly, the reversed version with an tempo less must be simply bad.

The book had the effect good books usually have: it made the stupids more stupid, the intelligent more intelligent and the other thousands of readers remained unchanged.

My first thought would be to wonder why it isn't just unsound, based on 4. Nxc6 dc 5. d3 Bc5 6. Be2 ...

I wish to open the following discussion on e4 - e5, nf3 - nf6, ne5 - nc6! - this appears to be quite a tricky and tactical line and has scored well for black of late - any idea?

Thanks
