If all goes well the updated and enlarged king's gambit files will be available for download to the subscribers in the november/december updates.

Hi Milenpetrov,

Thx for your understanding, that these mini databases are indeed meant for the subscribers only.
They are free in the sense that no author fee is involved,
and the subscribers of the e4-e5 enjoy an extra service (or bonus), not available in other sections.

There where two ideas behind providing this service a year ago:
(1) To provide an extra argument to subscribe to the e4e5 section.
(2) To adress the relative sparse coverage in the e4e5 section of both
the two knights defence and the kings's gambit. The reason behind this is probably the lack of high level GM games.

If all goes well the updated and enlarged king's gambit files will be available for download to the subscribers in the november/december updates.

And yes I fully agree with Markovich,
the standard of the contributions of the authors since 2005/2006
(O.Renet, T.Kosten) has been excellent.
Mikhalevsky's first contribution is impressive as well.

I tried to check the file but seems it is only for subscribers of that section.

I could make it available to everyone, I guess it is up to Micawber, as it is his work.
Of course, the alternative is that all Forum members subscribe ... ! Smiley

Yes, some forum members are not full subscribers or subscribers for a particular section as I am subscriber only for Open Sicilian section. Some sections are not of a interest depending on ones opening repertoire but sometimes happens that there are some interesting things worth attention as in this case. Anyway, I agree with your point and the file should be kept for section subscribers only.

Agreed. I should probably have put him in charge of 1 e4 e5 long before.
Incidentally, the cheque is in the post! Wink

Maybe it's my interest in 1...e5, but personally I've found this section to be an especially rewarding one to have access to.  Michalevski's doing it now, and his first update is up to the same high standard.  Some juicy Open Defense stuff this time, among other things. So I would urge anyone interested in 1...e5 to take out a subscription.  I don't think you'll regret it.

Many thanks to Micawber once again! Smiley

Thanks very much Micawber.

This prompted me to dig out my old analysis of the Lolli attack 4 Ng5 d5 5 exd5 Nxd5 6 d4, which I will post in a separate thread.

On the 1.e4 e5 section it is stated :"First, Forum member Micawber has updated his fantastic Two Knights Forum analysis digest, and it is available to everyone...". I tried to check the file but seems it is only for subscribers of that section. May be worth considering changing the text ... avialable only to subscribers...

Yes quite useful indeed, if only such updates were possible in every section it would be invaluable.

Perhaps we need a Mark Crowther type manning the forum boards.

As one opponent of mine has played 4.Ng5 in the Champions League, it is very useful! Again thanks to Micawber.
