tbh. I am wondering why there is so few literature on the dragon right now,
I thought this opening is quite popular among amateurs ...
I only find 3 books,
play the dragon, dearing,
starting out: the dragon, martin,
easy guide to the dragon, golubev,
not that much in comparison to other openings ...
is it because the dragon is somewhat under a cloud?
I can't understand that, the setup of this opening seems quite logical to me, can't be wrong ...
I also think it gives black high winning chances if white does 0-0-0 ...
I mean even Kasparov won against Anand with this opening in the Wch ...

Agreed, Frendo.  There are plenty of dragon lines that haven't received their due in print, and it seems like enough time has passed that one could find enough source games on the Chinese, Dragondorf, and so on to put together a WWTDIII-style text.

Maybe it's time for a third edition of Winning with the Dragon!  I too would like to see the theory of the Dragadorf put in a book although a chapter or two or more on the Chinese and Topalov variations would be nice as well.  On the other hand the only move I really have faith in against 9.0-0-0 is 9...d5, but I really haven't been following Dragon theory lately.

a little in Martin's book. But only in passing really.

An article by Si Williams in NIC (number?). Si actually plays this (dont think Martin does) so, no disrespect to Martin, but reasonable to assume that Williams may have more insight. Also - NIC naturally higher level than 'Starting Out'.

Best: Ward's continuing notes here (with input from Williams in the past) Plus check Si Williams'  games.

what is 'official' by the way?

Official theory on the dragondorf?

Hello,

is there official theory on the dragondorf,
so far I played it according to tiger's modern, and I like the normal dragondorf position quite much,
but I do not like if white plays c4 and I have to play a KID ... so I think about going into the dragondorf with a sicilian move order, is there any official theory on this dragondorf?
