A newbie question. I would like to discuss a line given by Neil McDonald in his analysis of a game Negi - Rozentalis. But would it be considered copyright violation or even just bad manners if I quote the line in question? Or should I say something like "after Neil's suggestion of 8...Nh4!?, I think that on move 11 of his analysis black could try Kf7!? blablabla", leaving it to the subscribers to look up the line in the PGN-archive? What is the proper etiquette?

Just be vague and say something like - 'In a recent update I noticed blah blah blah' and in that way any etiquette violation would be less blatant.

Thank you, that is the kind of common sense answer I was hoping for! Nice touch with the piranha, inspiring!  Wink

I don't see why there should be an issue as long as you quote the source.

Book anaylsis is often put under the microscope on this forum and this might encourage people to buy the book or subscribe to Chesspub so it's like free advertising!

And if the forum pirahnas pick the line to shreds, then this might increase the quality coming from the authors...

Watch out, chesspub is on your tail!
