Well I would have played (compare to regular Dragon, Topalov line to see the diffrence)

1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 d6 3. d4 cxd4 4. Nxd4
Nf6 5. Nc3 Nc6 (5... g6 {regular Topalov line} 6. Be3 Bg7 7. f3 O-O 8. Qd2 Nc6
9. Bc4 Bd7 10. O-O-O Rc8 11. Bb3 Nxd4 12. Bxd4 b5 13. Nd5 {etc} Nxd5 14. Bxg7
Kxg7 15. exd5 a5 16. a3 b4 17. axb4 axb4 18. Qxb4 {etc}) 6. f3 Nxd4 7. Qxd4 g6
8. Be3 Bg7 9. Bc4 {0} O-O 10. Qd2 Bd7 11. O-O-O Rc8 12. Bb3 b5 {the point is}
13. Nd5 Nxd5 14. exd5 a5 15. a3 b4 16. axb4 axb4 17. Qxb4 Rb8 {
and Rybka thinks that black is much better} *

About Be6 system instread I am not sure.

Oh, thanks.

I would like to talk about another line. After 9.Bc4 0-0 10.Qd2 Bd7

(Or maybe 10...Be6 11.Bb3 Qa5

(I checked the positions with 11.Bxe6 and I like Black's position)

12.0-0-0 Rfc8 13.Kb1 What should Black play here? After ...b5-b4, White can just play Ne2. How does Black continue the attack? Should Black play ...Bxb3? What would be the follow-up? In the game I was looking at, Black 13...Rc7 14.Bd4 Nd7? 15.Nd5! and White won in the end)

11.0-0-0 Qa5 12.Kb1 Rfc8 13.Bb3 b5 What now? As in the ...Be6 line, I don't know to do after ...b4 and Ne2. It seems that the Bishop on b3 is very strong in defending the queenside.

What do you think should be done?

A Qd2 Dragon without the bishop on d4

Actually, I posted about this in another thread, but I think it fits here better.

The line I am talking about is:

1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 Nf6 5.Nc3 Nc6 6.f3 Nxd4 7.Qxd4 g6 8.Be3 Bg7 9.Qd2 0-0 10.0-0-0 Be6 11.Kb1 Qc7 12.h4 Rfc8 13.h5 Qa5 14.hxg6 fxg6(hxg6)

The position obtained seems to be a typical Qd2 Dragon position with the bishop on e3 instead of d4. What difference does that make? Does that make this line much better for Black? I would like to hear some comments. Thanks.

Also, which is the better capture, 14...fxg6 or 14...hxg6?

And can someone point out or explain some of the thematic moves or ideas in this position to me? Thanks
