Suggestions for Stickies: Library and TN!

Greetings,

Since this site concerns both opening theory and chess publishing, I thought it might be useful to all - members and guests - to incorporate the following two suggestions as "stickies":

The Library
This would comprise a single locked(!) post with a list of books recommended by the staff and members, which could only be updated by the staff.

It would also include star ratings - much like those found on Amazon, etc - as a result of polls/reviews resulting from discussions about the individual books.

These discussions would by found by clicking on the individual book title, which acts as a link to that book's discussion topic - the book's topic would include the ability to award a star rating by those discussing it.

NOTE:
This would also help mitigate against several topics being started by more than one person about a given book.

In future, when anyone asks about a book or wishes to know what books to get, they can be directed to the Library sticky found in any forum on the site.

Clearly this could be used for all sorts of chess books - openings (general and specific), middlegame (strategy, tactics, judgement, planning, psychology, etc) and endgames (general and specific).

Theoretical Novelties (TN)
This is an obvious choice for a forum whose main purpose is discussing the latest opening theory!

This would be a sticky placed in each sub-section within the Openings section of the site, whose purpose is to act as an alert to members of any new TN - from any game/tournament from anywhere in the world.

This would ONLY be intended as a alert - the sticky must be locked to prevent discussion/comment within it.

As with the Library, each TN would act as a link to the topic where it's to be discussed.

I trust that the above two ideas may appeal to all those here.

Kindest regards,

Dragan Glas
