If you are looking for entire games, I'd recommend the Informant but if you need something about openings and the principles thereafter, I think NIC is better (more detailed analysis, text explanations)

Yusupov once said that “The problem with the Dutch Defence is that later in many positions the best move would be ...f5-f7” but he is surely wrong.

The fact that the opening surveys in NIC yearbooks have quite detailed prose introductions makes them well worth getting as a compliment to the informants.

Sosonko's corner and Glenn Flear's book reviews are also enjoyable!

I like the prose that NIC yearbooks have to offer and was just wondering whether there are any other chess websites out there which offer this level of prose?!

I'd say that they have a fair amount of overlap and a fair amount of non-overlap, so that you may well want to get both.

I have a set of Chess Informant starting  from issue one. I still refer to them a good deal.

My question is - Should I buy the Yearbooks as well or is this overkill? I suspect that some of my correspondence opponents are using the Yearbooks on the basis of the lines that they play.

I am hopelessly addicted to the King's Gambit
