He has certainly put a lot of work into this, I have just been through his analysis on a board and it seems quite good - he proposes playing a line where Black has two knights for two bishops, but where the light-squared one is shut out of the game.

Correction, there are two additional chapters as there is the Belgrade Gambit as well. I was a bit thrown by the 'original' numbering system which has two chapter 7s and two chapter 8s!! Roll Eyes

The 2nd edition just arrived through the post (from Poland!) and has an extra 40+ pages, and an additional chapter (Bishop's Opening). I have only had time to quickly look at the King's Gambit so far, it is the same up to page 28 when there is an additional 4 page discussion of 10 Qd2, and an extra line is added to the ECO-style lines. Smiley I will check his analysis over the next day or two.

PDF files are worth exactly what they cost.  My computer would be safer engaging in unprotected bathhouse gloryhole downloading than dealing with more pdf files.

However, I must say that this is really great gift from the publisher and we must praise this. Not everybody does this. Kudos to Quality Chess Press for this idea !

Next week a new edition of Beating the Open Games will become available. It includes 48 new pages.
