It seems that after 6. Qe2 c6   7. O-O-O cxd5 black can survive.
But you must be ready to play such "ugly" positions with black...

That's also the way I play it.

What do you think then white's best line is?

To come out on top you sometimes have to survive ugly positions...
But what is the current verdict of theory on this line?
Kindermann thinks the position is unclear in the German edition of his book from 2002.
Perhaps 8.Nd5!? is best now.
Of course 6. ... Nf7 7.h4 c6 is also an alternative.

Yusupov once said that “The problem with the Dutch Defence is that later in many positions the best move would be ...f5-f7” but he is surely wrong.

I heard rumours that the Dutch is refuted by the Staunton gambit!  Shocked
Am I the only one? Anyway I don't believe it!
But the Staunton seems to have become more popular recently, and especially the variation 1.d4 f5 2.e4 fe4: 3.Nc3 Nf6 4.Bg5 Nc6 5.d5 Ne5 6.Qe2!? seems dangerous.
Prusikin is an advocate of the white side.
Any ideas?
