I have the dvd "Killer c3 Sicilian" by IM Sam Collins which I like.
I also have the book "Grandmaster repertoire,The sicilian Defence" by Lubomir Ftacnik which have a chapter about c3 but I think it is easier to learn from dvds.

I'm reminded of 1. e4 c5 2. c3 e6 3. d4 d5 4. ed ed 5. Nf3 Nc6 6. Be2 (an old book line); substituting ...Qa5 for ...Nc6 seems doubtful.

4...d5 looks playable (but I have my doubts whether this d4-idea by black works)
in the other line I think 4...Nf6 5.e5 Nd5 6.O-O Nf4 7.d4 Nxe2+ 8.Qxe2 cxd4 9.Rd1 is critical, again a Morra idea

It's true, the computer loves White's Morra-style tries and that makes sense since Black doesn't play ...Qa5 in the Morra. But another reason I'm interested in this line is that so many ideas haven't been explored. For instance, Black could argue that 4.Be2 is passive and allows 4...d5, when either you get a non-critical French Advance (5.e5 Nc6 6.0-0 d4!? has been tried) or a French Tarrasch where Black will be able to put his knight on f6. (Neither the Be2 nor Qa5 are well placed but the tempi they have to spend moving again might cancel each other out.) Or could he get the outlandish bishop grab 4.Be2 Nf6 5.e5 Nd5 6.0-0 Nf4!? to work?

Is anyone aware of analysis of 2.c3 Qa5 beyond what's in Secrets of Opening Surprises 1 and the standard Alapin books? I'm impressed by Romanishin's handling of 3.Nf3 e6!? and the results he's gotten with it.

never looked at this line before, toying with Houdini I found 3.Nf3 e6 4.Be2 d6 (as played by Romanishin) 5.d4!? (a novelty as far as I can see) cxd4 (5...Nf6 6.e5) 6.O-O dxc3 7.Nxc3 Nc6 (7...Nf6 8.Bf4 e5 9.Bg5 Nc6 (9...Be6 10.Bxf6 gxf6 11.Nd5) 10.Bc4 Be7 11.Bxf6 gxf6 12.Nd5) 8.b4!?

I know the OP was some time ago but in case anyone else comes across this thread it's worth mentioning 'Starting out: the c3 Sicilian' by Emms, published 2008.
Lots of good explanations and analysis in there from a GM who plays it fairly regularly.

The "experts on the anti-sicilian" c3 chapter also looks awesome on first reading (haven't checked the lines yet) but is a black repertoire.

Sveshnikov's 'The Complete c3 sicilian' is really recommended

Now there are at least two more books, Sveshnikov - Complete c3, and Experts on the Anti-Sicilians.

There is this very well-known Sicilian Alapin position after 2.Nf3 e6 3.c3 d5 4.exd5 exd5 5.d4 Nc6....

As the second player, I tend to avoid IQP positions but since it can be reached via _various move-orders_ in my future repertoire, this time I can't help studying this one.
Where is this exact position covered? (a book/study/etc)

as
*W 1d4) Torre/Barry/Pirc/Philidor/ early _d5:early c4(QGD/Slav/QGD/etc)
*B) 1e4:e6 [+1_c5 2Nf3 a6]| 1d4:e6 2c4 Bb4+ BID/pseudoNID [+1_Nf6 NID]| 1c4:c5,_Nc6,_e5,_g6| 1Nf3:c5

Be careful of his dc5 line in 2...d5. Omits some stuff that Palliser covers very well (...Bf5)
Very tough to play for white anyhow that line.

Rest of DVD very impressive.
