sorry, i am lazy and don't feel like posting everything again Wink.

If you want to check on my analysis, you can go to the second page of this forum and look for the title "On the Classical Sicilian Ritcher Rauzer" by sssthepro. I think no one has tried to refute my analysis yet.

Please post any improvements you may have for White's play.

Smiley I am a believer!
I would be very interested how you play this line with Black?  Roll Eyes

I play 6...e6 7.Qd2 a6 8.0-0-0 h6, but it seems that people believe that White has excellent chances after 9.Nxc6 bxc6 10.Bf4. A lot of people believe that this is the main reason for the decrease in popularity in the Classical Sicilian line i mentioned.

I think I posted about this in another thread before.

I play 6... Bd7 in blitz games, its simple to play in most lines, except that Black must know the forced 7. Qd2 Rc8 8. f4 Nd4 9. Qd4 Qa5 10. e5 de5 11. fe5 e6 12. 0-0-0 Bc6 13. Nb5 Bb5 14. ef6 Bc6 15. h4 g6 where Galkin thinks Black is okay (see recent NIC yearbook), though Yermo thinks White is better. This looks critical to me, its a strange classical Caro-Kann with the pawn on f6, and that makes me slightly nervous. Dreev hasn't had any trouble in this line though, so I wonder why he switched to something else, perhaps to avoid predictability.

As we have discussed in other threads, the main snag to the Classical for Black is 6 Bg5.

I notice that Dreev (previously a 6...Bd7 specialist) has recently played the variation  6 Bg5 e6 7 Qd2 a6 8 0-0-0 Be7!?, which I think works well as anti-9 f3 system and also seems fine againt 9 h4 (which Dreev's opponent played) but we shall have to wait to see if he plays it again to find out what Dreev intended after the traditional, and still critical, 9 f4.

By the way, another recent convert to the Classical is Malakhov, previously an Ax Dragon specialist, so his games are probably going to be worth watching.

Has anyone else anything new to report in the praxis of the R-R, or any views/experiences with the above line?
