Better still, search in Mega Database White wins, ECO code E97, White rated over 2600.

What does author X say about this move? Why doesn't author Y mention that move?

If you have a database, or are a member of ICC, you might try doing a search on all E97 games with result 1-0.  Play through a few dozen at a pretty quick clip and see if you can get a feel for Queenside attacking ideas.  This has helped me with a number of openings.  Unfortunately, a lot of d-pawn openings transpose a couple of times before settling on an ECO, or else they're all lumped into something generic like D00.  But E97 is pretty specific, and you should be able to find plenty to work with.

Kramnik was the first player to play the Bayonet at the world-class level, and not without success.

Nowadays Van Wely is the other main expert - his encounters with Radjabov in this line are definitely worth studying.

And for the 7...Nbd7 line, Karpov's games are worth studying.

Hi guys,

I have now started studying the KI quite seriously as white (Bayonet mainly), and I was wondering if you had some model games or players about the white attack on the queens flank to suggest, as usually theory books stop where the attack starts...
