Thanks for this. Not sure how many of the other chapters I'd be interested in, but will consider getting hold of it!

Having just visited the ChessPub B28 archive, I've answered my own question! But obviously, all thoughts gratefully received. 2 ...a6!? looks a useful addition to a Sicilian player's repertoire ...

Do you know any good variants for black ...
See Greet--Conquest in the new Anti-Sicilians update!

3 c4 is often given as the 'antidote' to 2 ...a6 (e.g. in NCO 169/2), but I seem to remember reading somewhere recently that some (or even all?) of its fangs have been drawn. Can anyone say more?

Do you know any good variants for black, or what can I play after 3. d4?! ?

3.d4 allows Black very good play w/ 3. ...cd 4.Nd4 Nf3 5.Nc3 e5 then Bb4 if the Knight goes to b3 or f3 and 6. ...f5 if the Knight goes to f5.

3.d4 is a mistake against the O'Kelley, and provides good reason to essay this variation against people who make mechanical moves a regular part of their play.

I know I've made some very poor decisions recently, but I can give you my complete assurance that my work will be back to normal. I've still got the greatest enthusiasm and confidence in the mission.

3.c3 e6 4.d4 d5 5.e5 Bd7 is a sideline of the French Advance while 5.exd5 exd5 tends to transpose to the French Tarrasch.

The book had the effect good books usually have: it made the stupids more stupid, the intelligent more intelligent and the other thousands of readers remained unchanged.
