Assuming you mean for Be3 for d), then I'd go for that.

Resources are Chess Opening for White Explained, The Dynamic Reti and Pirc in Black and White.

Actually feel comfortable playing that way since I do own all these titles and already watched Dzhidzhi's forum video on beating the pirc. Although, I feel that is well analyzed and most pirc players are "booked up" and ready to defend with accuracy.

As your move order obviously includes the Barry Attack 1.d4 Nf6 2.Nf3 g6 3.Nc3 d5 you might consider 3...d6 4.Bf4 idea 5.Qd2 and evt. 6.0-0-0 as well, only playing e2-e4 when it suits you. You might get an improved version of the 150-Attack.

I like that idea and I'll look into that.

The book had the effect good books usually have: it made the stupids more stupid, the intelligent more intelligent and the other thousands of readers remained unchanged.

Those who want to go by my perverse footsteps play such pawn structure with fuzzy atypical still strategic orientations

A Byrne (Bg5) after you already played Nf3 won't work as it should.

Attack against the pirc defence

Hello everyone:

Based on my repertoire, Usually open my game with d4 & Nf3 and based on my opponent response, I decide what path to follow.

I like to take the pirc path on move 3 instead of the KID and after the moves 1.d4 Nf6 2.Nf3 g6 3.Nc3 d6 4.e4 Bg7 have to decide how to proceed either with
  • a) the classical 5.Be2 plan,
  • b)150 Attack Be3-Qd2 plan,
  • c)Bg5-Byrne?,
  • d)h3 and then Be2-Qd2 ....

My question is based on your experience against the pirc defense, which plan is easier to learn with clear plan and a good playable positions? What do you prefer and what are your resources.
