yes i think that 14.g5 is a bit suspicious but the logic behind the move was that it would permanently dissaude black from kingside castling, it would open the f file providing a decent point of attack if black either went long or stayed stuck in the centre.

Rhg1 may not have been the best move but i think it gave me the best winning chances otb

It all seems to work from a tactical perspective. The computer seems to think that black started to go wrong with 26...Nf3 (26...Ra8 when at least after a short think Rybka 3 seems to want to take a repetition - depending on the evaluation of that one could question whether 23.Rhg1 isn't quite so good and one could play for an advantage with some other moves - e.g. 23.Qb4 Rb8 24.Nb5 or something like that - black's position certainly looks most suspicious to me) and that 32...Kd8 and 34...Kd8 are not good either, but I the computer certainly doesn't complain about anything much that white did. Strategically I wonder about 14.g5, but then it's not an opening I play so I'm not so familar with the middle game positions and it may make perfect sense.

Kit Gallagher 1960 - General Gerto 2040

time- 2hours each

this was the best game of chess ive ever played in my life and i was wondering whether we could analyze it in some serious detail because i made a series of positional sacrifces of which i am not really sure of the soundness but i won the game in the resulting confusion and my opponent got into some serious time trouble. I wonder whether i was objectively better and was hoping the fritz/rybka could shed some light on it (since i dont have it myself)
theoretically speaking my opponent tried out a new idea in the classical sicilian, omitting castling. i may have played some moves early on that were not the best but certainly were not disasterous.

1.e4 c4 2.Nf3 d6. 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 Nf6 5.Nc3 Nc6 6.Bg5 e6 7.Qd2 a6 8.0-0-0 h6 9.Be3 Be7 10.f4 Qc7 11.Bd3 Nd7 12.g4 Nc5 13.Be2 Bd7 14.g5 hxg5 15.fxg5 b5 16.Bxb5 axb5 17.Nxb5 Qd8 18.Nxd6 Bxd6 19.Qxd6 Nb7 20.Qd2 Ne5 21.Qd4 f6 22.gxf6 gxf6 23.Rhg1 Nf3 24.Qb4 Nxg1 25.Qxb7 Rb8 26.Qa7 Nf3 27.Rxd7 Qxd7 28.Qxb8+ Qd8 29.Qb5+ Qb7 30.Qf1 Nxh2 31.Qxf6 Rf8 32.Qg6+ Kd8 33.Qg5+ Ke8 34.Qh5+ Kd8 35.Bb6+ Kc8 36.Qc5+ Kb7 37.Qxf8 Kxb6 38.Qf2+ 1-0
