Thanks! That's interesting. But in my database White still has a great score with ...a6 h3
I never looked at the Benoni Positions exactly but I think White plays Bd3  and waits with a4 till he can traspose with it to a good version of the ModerMainLine-Benoni. Because I'm not experienced with the Benoni positions I can't say anythink concrete. Is there someone more experienced who might help?

I think Black should answer this interesting idea with ...a6. Now I dont see how White can hinder Black's both main planes - either play ...Bg4 or ...b5 - a4 is not possible due to ...Ne4!

Benoni without Nc3!?

Hey!
I've just seen an idea for White to fight against the Benoni. White played it without Nc3 (It was an amateur game- nothing special). I think the idea is quite interesting. Concrete:
e.g. 1. d4...Nf6 2. c4...e6 3. Nf3...c5 4. d5...exd5 5. cxd5...d6 6.e4!?
with the simple idea that Black can't take e4 because of Qa4+.
I think White tries to put his Nb1 via d2 on c4. In the Mega08 White's score is overwhelming. Are there any sources to this idea? (I'm new here...)
It would be a nice idea if White wants to play the QI instead of the Nimzo but doesn't like the "normal" Benoni stuff with a quick Nf3.
What's your opinion about it? Can White fight for an objectivly advantage with it?
And if not: Why?
