There is also a file containing just the 2012 update games for those who want to update their existing database more quickly.

Yes, but as they change so often there doesn't seem to be much point adding them to the download.
Besides, it takes about two seconds to download them all from the PGN Archive.

Ok, I've now added all the 2011 games so the 'one stop update' is really up-to-date! There is also a file containing just the 2011 update games for those who want to update their existing database more quickly.
Please note: I used ChessBase 11 to do it this time around, which may be an improvement ... or not! Anyway, it seems to add columns for theoretical weight and 'Top Game' when it feels like it, which probably makes the downloads a bit bigger.
I removed all the team info from the main files as there is a known bug in ChessBase which messes these up. However, I did leave this info in the 2011 games download so you have the choice whether you want it or not!
Also, I used their 'improve players names' tool which, again, may or may not be a good thing. I noticed a few strange results of this myself (like the World Champion only being 2400!) but altered any mistakes that I saw.

I've just added the last December update games, and a few stray older games that missed out, so the 'one stop update' should now be complete up till January 2011!

Well, I went thru the motions of downing +140 files yesterday, so you can probably wait for the late december guys - and perhaps remind them about fide's zero tolerance ideas!

Any chance of a single file download for games added in 2009 to simply update the one step download?
