Update the pgn file. Added a critical variation suggested by some chess friends. Also added the opening moves from the stem game to pgn file.

This Bh6-move looks really interesting. However, it has already been played in J.Thomsen-J.Moreira, W-ch sf07 email 2007, which was won by Black. The game went 16...Bh6 17.Qxd4 Nf5 18.Qf2 Be3 19.Qe1 Bxc1 20.Qxc1 Qc5 21.Nc3 Be6 etc (see chesslive.de), when Black's position looks slightly preferable.

I am always interested to do some analysis - but could you please post this game as a pgn-file - either directly in the post (I can copy and paste it without problem) or as an attachment.

All you have to do is "copy game" in your chessprogram and paste it..

Thx, it would help a lot...

I know we have discussed this variation before and think I found some black improvments.

Background

1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 d6 3. d4 cxd4 4.
Nxd4 Nf6 5. Nc3 g6 6. Be3 Bg7 7. f3 O-O 8. Qd2 Nc6 9. O-O-O d5 10. Kb1 Nxd4 11.
e5 Nf5 12. exf6 Bxf6 13. Nxd5 Qxd5 14. Qxd5 Nxe3 15. Qd2 Nxd1 16. Qxd1 Be6 17.
Bb5 (17. Bd3 Rfd8 18. Qe2 Rd6 19. h4 Rb6 20. b3 a5 {
with compensation. Black won a corr game from this position}) 17... a6 18. Ba4
Rfd8 19. Qe2 Rd4 20. Bb3 Bxb3 21. axb3 Rad8 {
MCO calls this a draw. White can press for more} *

Here comes a preparation that I made for local club champinship last winter (winter 2008) against a 2000 player who always plays Kb1. Unfortuannly he diverted and played 1 f4 and I won a complicated game where he played the position like it was a classical dutch and I played like it was a closed sicilian.

1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 d6 3. d4 cxd4 4.
Nxd4 Nf6 5. Nc3 g6 6. Be3 Bg7 7. f3 O-O 8. Qd2 Nc6 9. O-O-O d5 10. Kb1 Nxd4 11.
e5 Nf5 12. exf6 exf6 13. Bc5 (13. Nxd5 Nxe3 14. Qxe3 Be6 15. Bc4 f5 {
is equal according to Ward}) 13... d4 14. Bxf8 (14. Ne2 Re8 {
and black was better in some game where Ward was black}) 14... Qxf8 15. Nb5 {
critical line} (15. Ne2 {
was played in the stem game (dont remember the players) after after} Ne3 (15...
Be6 {is Rybka 3 preference} 16. Nxd4 Rd8 17. c3 Nxd4 18. cxd4 f5 {
and Rybka calls it totally equal}) 16. Rc1 Nc4 17. Qxd4 b5 {black somehow won})
15... Ne3 16. Rc1 (16. Re1 f5 17. Nxd4 f4 {
and black has fantatic compensation. Whites best is probebly} 18. Rxe3 fxe3 19.

and, like my trainer said, "white has an extra pawn but only black can win"})
16... Bh6 {a interesting move. I dont think it ahs been played (yet)} 17. Qxd4

) 17... Nf5 18. Qxf6 Be6 19. Bd3 (19. Nc7 Bg7 20. Nxe6 Qd6 21. Qg5 Bh6 22. Qg4
(22. Qf6 Bg7 {is  of course a draw}) 22... Bxc1 23. Bc4 Bxb2 24. Kxb2 (24. Ng5
Kg7 25. Kxb2 Ne3 26. Qh4 Qb4+ 27. Kc1 Qxc4 28. Qxh7+ Kf6 29. Ne4+ Ke6 30. Kd2
Qd4+ 31. Ke2 Nd5 32. Qh6 Rc8 33. Re1 Rh8 34. Qd2 Qxd2+ 35. Nxd2 Rxh2 {

Rc8) (19. Rd1 Bg7 20. Qg5 Bh6 {and white must take the draw or else} 21. Qg4

Kxb2 Qb4+ 23. Ka1 Qc3+ 24. Kb1 Qb4+ {draws} *

Thoughts? Improvments for both sides are welcomme.
