The latest playable eBook went online yesterday, Classical & other Dragons, but I couldn't find either Grunina,N-Sukhareva,O/St Petersburg 2000, or Glek,I-Van de Mortel,J/KNSB NED 1998, (both referred to in the Roadmaps) in the PGN Archive. Does anyone have copies of them at all, or know when Chris annotated them?

sorry i guess the question was rather insipid most of the time the classical dragon or yugoslav players i've met play the same move order. I think when i saw g4 right away I played Nc6 to see what line he might have intended to transpose into (I really like the Qb6 lines for example after f4) and he didn't really let on right away, so it became its own independent thing. also, i asked because i was wondering if i should at all fear a quick g5. also, i read the posts about 7..Nc6 (thanks very much for the suggestion) but (presumably) you mean it hangs material because after the exchanges on g4 black can take twice on d4 but what about 7...Nc6 8. g4 Nxg4 (presumably) then the intermediate 9.Nxc6? My apologies bear in mind i have no engine and my gills are still very much easy to see.

I like both suggestions but i think maybe the quick d5 thrust would be more to my liking (and easy enough to study in my recently acquired Ward dragon books!) thanks!!

Looks like a tricky fishy line which needs some accurate answers when Black should be fine.

1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d6 3. d4 cxd4 4. Nxd4 Nf6 5. Nc3 g6 6. Be2 Bg7 7. Be3 0-0 8. g4 (!?). None of the dragon books i have seem to discuss this line, and my abridged ECO (2nd edition) also does not mention this. Any ideas?!? I think I played Nc6 (as black) and, after some moves i managed Qb6 (after f4 of course) and managed to get a good game but lost in a series of tactical skirmish. The moves i don't recall specifically because it was a speed game but i think this was my opponent's main sideline against the dragon, and he is a good player (better then me) and therefore i take the idea seriously enough. anyone have any trusted analysis. (It's sad for me to report also that i do not own a good computer program to look at this either. Thanks!)
