chesspublishing.com does all the work for you.  instead of buying an armload of (obsolete) books i think you are better off subscribing to the KID section here at chesspublishing.com. that way you get the newest possible annotated games in digital format, you can dump them all in a database for easy searching, or print out the e-book.  $20 to subscribe for one year.  then you will have no excuse for not knowing your "theory" and the annotated games include middle- & endgames as well.

Playing two variations against every main KID variation is a good way of 'beefing up your KID'.

For example, against the Classical Variation you could play 7...Nc6 when you are striving for a more tactical type of middlegame, or 7...Na6 when you want a more strategic middlegame out of the opening.

All our dreams come true if we have the courage to pursue them.

Greetings,

KID Tactics, Ideas, Exercises I believe is the book to which you're referring.

There's also the more well-known Tactics in the KID, which may be of some use - whether it covers all the typical traps or not, I can't say.

Kindest regards,

Dragan Glas

Isn't there a book by Minev with all of the traps and tricks in the KID ?
Because this seems more useful for you judging from your description.
(Than Bellin & Ponzetto's 'Mastering the...' I mean, as you know all of the plans already ¿?)

A hopelessly old-fashioned idea (the sort of thing that I would do) would be to have a look at the recently-revised ECO which covers the entire KID (as well as several other openings).

How to Beef up My KID

up till now, i have been playing the black side of the KID as my main defense to 1.d4/c4/Nf3 without properly knowing the theory i.e i know the main lines (classical 10.Nd3/Be3/ g4 plans) (Samisch panno) (Fianchetto a6/exd4 lines) etc and i understand the various plans in each lines and so far my theoretical knowledge has been sufficient to win some good games, but as i have come across some stronger more theoretically knowledgable people i have been found wanting in the nitty gritty details of the theory, for example in a classical game, about 20 moves deep i was told that i had made a well known theoretical blunder that anyone who played the KID should really know about.

So i have come to the conclusion that i need to beef up my knowledge of the hard theory on each line
so i need books....

What is the best book for each of: CLassical
                                                 Samisch Panno
                                                 Fianchetto lines
                                                 4 Pawns

and can somebody recommend a list of good KID games to go through

Cheers
