Regarding your Burn recommendation: Instead of 7...b6, Morozevich's 7...a6 is probably better. The newly-released Yearbook 90 has some excellent coverage of this line, by Kaufman if I recall rightly.

With your advance lines I would go for the Willempie's universal laws of the french advance structures:
1. When in doubt play c5.
2. c5 is already played c5 then play f6.
3. f6 is already played then play cxd4.
4. cxd4 is already played then play fxe5.
5. If all these moves are already played you can't be in doubt, you are already on yor way to win.

These sound quite interesting and useful. If we can add light-colored bishops exchange then it would sound perfect from black side.  Smiley

Yes - but I'll give you the answer in an Anti-Sicilian thread. When I played the Sicilian I had good results against 2.c3.

The book had the effect good books usually have: it made the stupids more stupid, the intelligent more intelligent and the other thousands of readers remained unchanged.

Mewonders why everything needs to be called dynamic Huh

As a reaction I dont like your line A2 at all, but that may be me. I think the Mac or 4..Be7 is more "dynamic". Also be very aware of the transpositions and differences with A1 and C.
With your advance lines I would go for the Willempie's universal laws of the french advance structures:

3. f6 is already played then play cxd4.

Or a database?

The quickest way to find model games is to do a database search on the lines you gave; select both players ELO 2600+. If that's not enough, select both players ELO 2500+.

'repertoire'
Do you have any books on the French?
Or a database?
Both good places to start.

1. Check previous threads for good French books (e.g. watson)
2. Buy some books.
3. Open the books.
4. Do some work yourself.
5. Come back with more considered questions. All you ask is very well covered in the main French texts.

This thread works well to assist people who study and read.
Not when asked to to replace and to repeat all chess books.

You do some work first, we help later. No spoon feeding - this will help you in the long run.

Hello there, I am currently working on my new repetoire, and I'm thinking about playing the french as black against 1.e4
I have the following things in mind:

1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5

A)
3.Nc3 Nf6

A1)
4.e5 Nfd7 5.f4 c5 6.Nf3 Nc6 7.Be3
Here I don't know if i will play 7...a6 or 7...cxd4 8.Nxd4 Bc5 9.Qd2 0-0. Could anyone help me with this choice

A2)
4.Bg5 dxe4 5.Nxe4 Be7 6.Bxf6 gxf6 7.Nf3 b6

B)
3.e5 c5 4.c3 Nc6 5.Nf3 Bd7

B1)
6.a3 f6 7.Bd3 fxe5 8.Nxe5 Nxe5 9.dxe5 Ne7

B2)
6.Be2
Here black can play 6...f6 or 6...Ne7 Which one should I play?

C)
3.Nd2 Nf6 4.e5 Nfd6

C1)
5.f4 c5 6.c3 Nc6 7.Ndf3 Qb6 8.g3 cxd4 9.cxd4 Bb4+ 10.Kf2 g5

C2)
5.Bd3 c5 6.c3 Nc6 7.Ne2 cxd4 8.cxd4 f6 9.exf6 Nxf6 10.0-0 Bd6 11.Nf3 Qc7

D)
3.exd5 exd5
I'm planning here to castle long, what is the correct move order for this?

I am looking for some model games and help with picking out some dynamic variations.Thank you in advance!
