Try 9...Qb6!?

This line not only looks tricky and tactical, but scores the best for Black on my database. Rybka thinks it's about = / =+

Wow!

I will definitely investigate that. What version Rybka are you running and on what hardware?

Yeah, well... I wonder what vol 2 should be about...

Maybe it will be about how to snuff out Black's winning chances with the 4 Pawns Attack part two, featuring:  1 d4 Nf6 2 c4 g6 3 Nc3 Bg7 4 e4 d6 5 f4 0-0 6 Nf3 c5 7.Be2!! cxd4 8. Nxd4 Nc6 9.Be3. LOL.

Seriously though, how does one generate winning chances in that line for Black?

Ideas welcome.

Unless the whole thing is for Shits and Giggles!?

You've lost me there. Are they both famed 4 pawns practitioners?
Not on my dbase. Corr Chess?

The title was just meant to sell copies. I don't think it's honestly inteneded as a pun on infantcide or something. If you're going to go off on a tangent (Chess B...... might not be any good, cuz you know...you might offend somebody there) shouldn't it be substantive?

IMO, the title is really not OK. I know well that Chess Stars are a good people who published dozens of the interesting chess books. Hopefully they will publish a book under another title, sooner or later. About the current title... well, it is not a book that I want to owe. Maybe I have to improve my sense of humour first.

I agree, in bad taste. Perhaps differing humour, differing attitudes in different countries. From Eastern Europe somewhere I know, perhaps the Chess Stars folk hail from the same town featured in that shocking documentary " Hostel".

Anyhow, I look forward to the text and will buy, just so long as book cover has no pics of children being hacked apart.

What, no 8-year-old chess kids being torn to shreds by the dread 4PA?  T'would serve 'em right for disobeying their coach and not learning how to play the Tarrasch.

But those of us in the dollar zone can barely afford to buy chess books anymore, you know?  Not when this under-150-page effort goes for $35.00 (or so) plus shipping from Transylvania.  I declare, if the dollar and the euro were reversed right now, I'd retire to the Côte d'Azur.

Well, I'm not thrilled about the Four Pawns...but a series is interesting and shows the publisher is thinking differently. According to the link posted by gewgaw (thanks by the way), we may have a voice in what's selected for Vol. 2 ...So how about someone creating a poll or thread (or we can discuss it here I guess) with suggestions?

Well, I just don't get it. It just seems to me that most KID players are drooling to play against this.

You certainly don't need to improve your sense of humour. If it's a joke then it's a bad one. You need to raise your level of tolerancy for book titles. In the end it's the content that matters.

The book had the effect good books usually have: it made the stupids more stupid, the intelligent more intelligent and the other thousands of readers remained unchanged.

22,95 € for this book - quite tough!

Where did you find a price?  It may be "under print," as it says on the website, but I could not find a way to order it.
