Tactics in the endgame

Following Van Perlo's example perhaps forummembers could contribute some nice endgame-tactics. My contribution is a game from my fellow clubplayer Sander Hauglustaine from Flemish Youth Championship 2009 U14-section earlier this year. Sander is a very nice kid and a great talent who has been unknow in youth tournament circuit in Belgium until this year because he rarely played outside the club. He played this great combination against third highest rated player in the U14 in Belgium. He finished 5th in this tournament and 6th in the Belgian youth championship U14 this month

Verstraeten, Reinaert (1993 FIDE-elo) - Hauglustaine, Sander

Both players are in time pressure (time-limit; 90min + 30 sec per move). Black took white bishop on a3 with his last move to which white replied Rg7 with the seemingly unstopable threat of Re7#.

Sander replied

1…Rf3+ 2.Kxf3 b2+ 3.Kf4 Rf3+ 4.Kxf3 b1D
