I do not really understand the inclusion of update 5 (Gajewski variation) 
into Martin´s 5d3 repertoire. Can someone help me?!

The Berlin variation is the most covered line on the DVD. First 3 games from 1st edition where he recommended an alternative to Berlin Wall ending. But on the new material(3 more games) he more than less recommends entering the Berlin Wall ending and comments on what has been happening in old line and the old system has not been refuted in any way so both are playable, it only a matter of taste.

The first ed. avoids the open and closed Ruys with 5. d3, and only has 3 games on that line, none of which involve 5. ...Bc5  Sad

Is the 2nd Ed any different? The blurb says it covers more on the Berlin line, so I'm not sure if there is a new recommendation there.

For those with the 1st or 2nd edition, is the coverage of the lines good enough to give an overview of the main lines of the Open/Closed Ruy?

I'm looking to purchase this to get a general feel of the lines before diving into Khalifman's OFWATA vol. 2, which apparently will need some updating with more recent database theory.

I don't have the first edition DVD in front of me, but from the looks of the index it appears that the updates are simply added at the back-end of the DVD and that the original material wasn't changed.  This is hardly the integrated approach I would have hoped for, so while I'll wait for others to chime in after they've gone through the 2nd edition, at first blush, it looks like a pass for those that already own the 1st edition.

I have the 1st edition of this DVD, not sure if it's going to be worth me getting the 2nd edition, so I'm touting for feedback.
