I might be slightly biased, but I quite liked the Kaissiber French thread, as well as the "I lost my interest after this...." KID Thread. A lot of fun analysis and healthy discussion.  Grin

Actually, strictly speaking it is only the main site chesspublishing.com that has reached it's 10th anniversary, the ChessPub forum still has a little way to go: the first thread was written on Dec 19th, 2002! Roll Eyes
Apart from that, the Kaissiber competition threads are probably my favourites. Smiley

*bump*

Should we have a poll to decide which threads are 'the best of the best'?

@RubenKuijper & JEH

If the idea of a correspondence match via. the Forum is successful, I will be more than happy to contribute to this, although I won't have time to analyse in a lot of detail.

This sounds like a great idea. Maybe there could even become a subforum for people playing forum chess?

I have got it. And don't you dare not to nominate it for whatever reason!

It's the thread on the game Ostapbender - Smyslov_Fan, where they played the French Steinitz Defence. I don't think there is any other thread in which so many people contributed so much analysis of such high quality.

More than 550 replies and more than 37 000 views - it must be a strong contender.

I agree. This one.

How about a 10th Aniversary rematch, or a game played in a similar format by the site contributors, maybe even Tony?

MNb,

That thread on the French Steinitz is very near to my heart and is certainly one of my favorites.  Other threads that quickly come to mind include endgamestudies, and the various threads about the World Championships (of chess and football!)

I generally leave the criteria up to the individual.

If we get inundated, we may break it down by opening or some other category.  (That would be a nice problem to have!)

Out of the threads I made a major contribution to, my best effort was probably the following thread: http://www.chesspub.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1238132634

What are the criteria to determine whether a thread makes it in the 'best list' or not?

Hi all!

As many of you are aware, this October marks ChessPublishing.com's 10th Anniversary.

Smiley

In honor of the occasion, I have decided to start a string of "best of" threads.  Here's the first:  In the time that you have been here, what have been some of the very best and most interesting threads you've seen?  I'm not going to start a poll until we have some recommendations, but I would like to have this finished by about September 15th.

Cheers!

~SF
