John Watson deals a little the variation in last update (october 2009) in the 1.e4 chesspub section.

For Qg4 I don't know about improvements in Tal game..but strategic plan starting with Qg4 (pressure on king side and g7 pawn) is always interesting to study.

I guess it was advocated in a recent CK book, and I'd be curious to see if Black has improved over the famous Tal game with 5.Qg4.

But if it only occurs via the CK shouldn't it be dealt with in the 1.e4-section then?

Yes,...,maybe, the section is only for 1.e4 e6 move order..

(subject field is short size,..,I am forced to name a nameless variation)

Not really useful for me (because I am only "old" guest on chesspub)...but maybe kgwm can cover , in future update, this line of Caro Kan transposing to French Steinitz with a tempo more for White.

The variation move order is: 1.e4 c6 2.d4 d5 3.e5 c5 4.dxc5 e6

It's Caro Kan when Black chooses to transpose to French Steinitz (dxc5 move) with tempo less  (because c pawn moved two times).

Many grandmasters games have been played with the line...and I think coverage of line never appeared on chesspub. Maybe I am wrong ?
