The knight won't eye f4 and h4 for long after 16 gxh5...

16 ...Nf4 to recover the pawn allows 17 Nc4 and White is just about ready to play d4.

Out of curiosity, what did Anand play if not 14 Nf4?

To me, 14. Nf4 Nde5N 15. Nxg6 Nxg6 looks like a reasonable continuation for black. The light-squared bishop on g6 is quite limited in this kind of position so why not "replace" it with a knight that eyes f4 and h4?

In his book Palliser referred to the game Llabollita- Liascovich (Buenos Aires 2002):

1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bb5 d6 4. O-O Bd7 5. Re1 Nf6 6. c3 a6 7. Bf1 Bg4 8. d3
e6 9. Nbd2 Be7 10. h3 Bh5 11. g4 Bg6 12. Nh4 Nd7 13. Ng2 h5 14. Nf4 hxg4 15.
Nxg6 fxg6 16. Qxg4 Kf7 17. Qg2 Rh5 18. Be2 Rh7 19. Nf3 Qh8 20. Kh2 Qb8 21. d4
d5+ 22. Kg1 dxe4 23. Bc4 Nf8 24. Rxe4 b5 25. Bxe6+ Nxe6 26. Rxe6 Kxe6 27. Qxg6+
Kd7 28. d5 Qd6 29. dxc6+ Kc7 30. Qxh7 Rf8 31. Qe4 Qd1+ 32. Qe1 Qd6 33. Bg5 Bxg5
34. Nxg5 Rf5 35. Ne4 1-0

Palisser quotes that after 14. Nf4 hxg4 15. Nxg6 fxg6 16. Qxg4 Rf7 white is better.

Nevertheless Carlsen and Anand played the same variation (13. h5) in Amber 2009 (blind) and Anand didn't played Nf4.

So my question: as I suppose that at least one of these top players have found improvements to the game of Llabollita, I would know if you have some idea about how to improve it (maybe 14.Qc7 or something else)?

Thanks a lot.
