	Bumping the thread again, to ensure it doesn't disappear from the top 20 threads during the voting period. For the record, I voted for Agdestein's Stonewall book. I was originally intending to vote for Marin's work but changed my mind shortly after I learned that Marin's 1.c4 repertoire will be in 3 volumes (not that I have anything against this decision). Obviously we can't see the votes, but I suspect that it will be a rather close poll.

	I only own one of these books so feel it unfair to vote against the others (which I haven't read). Two are repertoire books with different first moves, so I'm guessing a lot of people, like me, wouldn't own them both. The third is a bit specialist. Maybe it's possible to vote as a 'fan' of a book (that you own) or system rather than the actual worth of the book in comparison to the others. But not sure 'book of the year' is usually a popularity contest. My guess is Marin's English book will win .

	Voting about Linares is easier than voting about books I haven't read.

	There are many aspects of an opening book. Does it cover all the variations its supposed to do? Is it up to date? Does it contain original analyses? Are the analyses good? Are there lots of explanations? Is it well written? Is the format good? Does it handle transpositions well? Is the opening itself good (theoretically)? Is the opening good for you (at your level, for your style)? Is the book good for you at your level? Is the layout of the book good? The Stonewall book has an interesting format and is written in an engaging style, which I think makes it a very attractive book. I also like de la Villas engaging style and format. The brief summaries are quite useful. In the Chesscafe competition (of all books, not just opening books) the Zuke 'em book was included. I assume it has an attractive format for the intended audience.

	Don't check me with no lightweight stuff.
