Advanced Variation debacle

I lost a handful of games when playing against this variation:
1. e4 c6 2. d4 d5 3. e5 bf5 4. Nf3 e6 5. Be2 c5 6. c4!?....

I check my database and there are not much grandmasters who played this variation as white.  But also i suspect that there are some good reasons why this early c4 is not sound.  Could you help me on this?
