I've just remembered one minor problem that now sometimes occurs with Rybka3.
I leave R3, which I always have displaying its two best lines of analysis, to look at a "difficult" position for some time. It may show the best move as, say, winning for White, while the second-best is winning for Black. I move on a few moves and then go back to the beginning, when R3 now only shows the second-best line. To get it to show two lines, including the best line again, I have to go back further and then forward again.
I have no idea why this sometimes happens or whether it's to do with Windows 7 or my new laptop (it never happened on my old laptop running on XP).

Thanks, btw one thing I've in Vista is that deep analysis with especially rybka in CB, tends to freeze the computer to a dark screen. Repeated Alt+Tab-ing usually unlocks it, - eventually...

I'm considering trading up from Vista 32 bits (processors are 64 bits but the place I bought it had saved some money on the windows edition...) to Windows 7 for 64 bits.

Just wondering if anyone here knows if any of the major chessprograms that might not work on this OS? (E.g. on Vista, fritz 9 doesn't work, though that's hardly a concern nowadays...)

Windows 7 seems fine with ChessBase, Rybka, Fritz and Junior.
Only issue I have is that the cursor sometimes shoots down the screen (sorry - non-technical language), which it never did with XP (I didn't have Vista) but I suspect this is a general Windows 7 issue (or maybe an issue with my new laptop) rather than a chess programme issue.
