	Basically the knight is simply not stable on g4 so they're retreating it in advance. (f3/Be2 etc will force it to move.). Does also rather point out the futility of Bc1 to white Without the whole Bg5/h6/g5 thing thrown in its hard to see how to do anything else with it. Nc6 x d4, Ng4 -> e5 -> c6 would be a bit convoluted! On a concrete basis, 7.. e6 has a minor tactical drawback

1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 d6 3. d4 cxd4 4. Nxd4 Nf6 5. Nc3 a6 6. Be3 Ng4 7. Bc1

E.g. as in Ivanchuk-Carlsen, 2010, Amber-Rapid.

The game continued 7..Nf6 8.Bg5

I am wondering about the reason for the knight retreat. Are other moves inferior for black or not? e.g. 7..e5, 7..e6, 7..Nc6
