I really cannot think of a better choice. He is the best professional i know and can think of.

Not that I want to argue against Kotronias, but I don't think Kotronias is a better prof than Nijboer and Van der Sterren. The latter once beat Kotronias as Black - in a Ruy Lopez Exchange.

The book had the effect good books usually have: it made the stupids more stupid, the intelligent more intelligent and the other thousands of readers remained unchanged.

He doesn't play the KID anymore.

Kotronias is ALWAYS playing the KID. And if he has abandoned it, well, this is our chance to learn his secrets from the great man himself! I really cannot think of a better choice. He is the best professional i know and can think of.

I like the Gawain Jones idea a lot.

Yelena Dembo plays the King's Indian and has written some nice books.  You could ask her.
http://www.jeremysilman.com/book_reviews_jd/Dangerous_Weapons_Kings_Indian.html
John Donaldson was apparently impressed with her writing on the KID: "I can strongly recommend DANGEROUS WEAPONS: THE KING’S INDIAN, particularly Dembo’s three chapters on …Nbd7 systems versus the Classical Variation."

It's a shame as Mikhail was good.

Would it be easier to get different writers for different variations ??.
eg Rowson on the Samisch, Wells on The Gligoric, Palliser on the Petrosian etc.

Nakamura would be my choice even if he only annotated his own games !!

And who will pay them? LOL.

I vote for Teimour Radjabov or Victor Bologan.  Wink

Obviously I can write an article if you're really desperate.

How about Gallagher? Mark Hebden maybe?

They would both be brilliant, of course. Joe used to have the section and I thought he was excellent, but he couldn't find the time, too much pokering, and I've asked Mark many times, but he refuses to do any writing. Sad
I'm sure Lanka would be good knowledge-wise, we play together for the same BL side and he is a top coach, but his English is not very good.
A lot of the others mentioned would never be willing to write, or give away any of the secrets (like Grischuk), or don't have very good English.

A practical choice would be IM Florin Felecan?

He's a very strong IM. He has play all lines of the KID from both white and black.

Though i'd be happy with any of the aforementioned names on this thread Wink

All I know is if GM Kosten replaces GM Golubev with Prof Snape, Kosten had better watch his back. This section appears to be more cursed that the Defense Against The Dark Arts position in Harry Potter.  Undecided

Indeed, even the KID Forum is usually dead except for the occasional sporadic attempts at resuscitation.
