HI,
WIth work and other commitments I think Open is too much, hopefully I am wrong. I was wondering which would be a theoretically better repertoire:
1. Main line 2.c3 systems. or
2. 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3
-vs 2...d6 then Nc3 Nf6 and e5
-vs 2...Mc6 then 3.Bb5 and main lines
-vs 2....e6 play 3.g3
-vs 2...a6 3.c3
-vs 2....g6 3.c3
I think 2. keeps more pieces on the board, which is better than fewer pieces when the position is =.
Thanks for your time,
Zatara
Play a main line Alapin repertoire via a. 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 move order:
a) 2...Nc6 3.c3 Nf6 4.e5 Nd5 5.Bc4 Nb6 6.Bb3 d5 7.ed6 Qd6 8.d4 cd4 9.Na3
b) 2...Nc6 3.c3 d5 4.ed5 Qd5 5.Nf3 Bg4 6.dc5
c) 2...Nc6 3.c3 d5 4.ed5 Qd5 5.Nf3 Nf6 6.Be2
d) 2...e6 3.c3 d5 4.e5 Nc6 5.d4 and 6.a3
e) 2...e6 3.c3 d5 4.e5 d4 5.cd4 cd4 6.Bb5
f) 2...e6 3.c3 Nf6 4.e5 Nd5 5.d4 cd4 6.cd4 d6 7.Bc4
g) 2...e6 3.c3 Nf6 4.e5 Nd5 5.d4 cd4 6.cd4 b6 7.Nc3
h) 2...d6 3.d4 cd4 4.Nd4 Nf6 5.f3 (if 3.c3, 3...Nf6 4.Be2 g6 5.0-0 Bg7)
It will be easier for you to make the transition to the Open Sicilian with this repertoire than with the other two repertoires as in this repertoire you are already playing Maroczy Bind positions in the Prins Variation.
