I said "I wanted to make the poll fair by only considering books where the whole book is devoted to giving Black a complete repertoire against the Ruy Lopez." Im amending that and now saying: I'm only considering books where the majority of the book is devoted to giving Black a complete repertoire against the Ruy Lopez because "Play 1 e4 e5" does cover lines other than the Ruy Lopez.

I didn't put Gambiteer II on the list because only half of the book is devoted to the Ruy Lopez.

The 35 pages might be quite good.

"In fact, the 1...e5 recommendations for Black in this book have already provided a core for the repertoires of one of my students and for two 2300+ players that I know!"

I didn't put them on the list because "Attacking the Spanish" does not provide Black with a complete repertoire against the Ruy Lopez (except for in it's coverage of 3...f5) and "The Ruy Lopez Revisited" is a comprehensive book on most of Black's alternatives to 3...a6 and the Berlin.

I didn't put "The Chess Advantage in Black and White" on the list because it only has one 35 page chapter on playing against the Ruy Lopez and it's a 500 page book.

I didn't put "Offbeat Spanish"on the list because it's a comprehensive book on most of Black's alternatives to 3...a6.

I wanted to make the poll fair by only considering books where the whole book is devoted to giving Black a complete repertoire against the Ruy Lopez.

For this poll, add "Beating the Open Games" coverage of the Ruy Lopez Exchange variation" to your opinion of "A Spanish Repertoire for Black" and disregard Play 1 e4 e5!'s coverage of Non Lopez lines.
