Let's just say that I certainly doubt that 5. Qa4+ is as good as 5. Bf4, preparing to put the queen on d2.  That Sveshnikov trap (assuming it's the one I think you mean) has approximately nothing to do with this position, and engines often come up with dubious opinions of opening positions.

I don't know, I would think of tossing away White's slight advantage with such a move as more like a "crime" than a "theoretical novelty."

The queen will need to move after ...Nc6 anyway so just being pro-active about it.  According to my engine it does nothing of the sort (throwing away the advantage).  A queen on a4 is often well placed in lines where Black has played ...d6 and ...a6, I am reminded of a trap in the 7. Nd5 line against the Sveshnikov Sicilian.

But do continue to mock, if thats what it takes to make your obviously inadequate being feel better, while I continue making associations between patterns in disparate openings.

1. e4 e5  2. Nf3 d6  3. d4 exd4  4. Qxd4 a6  5. Qa4+

Its not fundamentally unsound by any means and perhaps worth a try in blitz as if 5...b5?  6. Bxb5+
