Saw a 5 minute blitz game from someone using the sniper.  It was rich with complications, but in the end it surprisingly calmed down to an endgame where white won easily.

I think it was a good introduction to some of the ideas, but being blitz there are probably improvements all over the place.  If you want to see that game visit kingscrusher's youtube channel.

Off-topic: I'm surprised that Storey made a big deal about Aronian playing the Sniper with 1.c4 g6 2.g3 c5 3.Bg2 Bg7, given that this is just a main-line Symmetrical English.

The main advantage of using the Sniper via. 1.e4 c5 is to avoid 1.e4 g6 2.d4 Bg7 3.Nc3 c5 4.dc5 and 4.d5. You still need good answers to all of the Anti-Sicilians, though, and 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 g6 3.d4 Bg7 4.dc5 is good for White.

I agree, I meet 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 g6 3.d4 Bg7 4.dc5 in a team match this season agianst a higher rated player and won a compliacted struggle since I forgot that Qa5+ c3 Qxc5 can be meet by Na3 and white is slightly better.

Not sure, I suppose that some lines can transpose to accelerated dragons.

But what is the difference between the 'Sniper Dragon' and the 'Sniper' that is being discussed on 1 e4 ... ?

I think it is something like 1...g6 2...Bg7 3...c5 vs 1.d4 or 1.e4.

A lot of transposition are covered under the Accelerated Dragon and I'd imagine most that don't would either be in the "1.e4..." section or if c4 is in then the "King's Indian" section.

Perhaps this should be posted in Daring Defences to d4 but i couldn't be bothered checking the ECO codes. I was wondering if it is possible to cover the Sniper Dragon? as, Donaldson points out there are transpositions to the Dragon here so yea i just wanted to see if this was worth your effort since it seems there's been a lot of interest in the sniper, even if its not all good.
