Thx, Antillian. I knew 95% couldn't be correct, unless it was some specific niche that was being reported.

Still, 68% control of the total tablet market by a single product family is amazing.

Icc app is very good except for blitz one I find I lose about 2-3 seconds a move even trying to move instantly, but otherwise I am impressed by all the features and you can see the videos that icc do.
And you have to pay the subscription.

Hiarcs for ipad is now out and I suggest that any ipad owner immediately invests in it.
What with that and the ICC app, which is vastly more useable than it was on the iphone, naturally, the ipad is my favourite place for chess now.

I don't currently own a tablet, but if I was going to buy one in the next 12 months or so I'm pretty sure it would be made by Apple. We'll see what sort of market share Apple has in a year though.

I really liked it too, but Apple did not!

I am don't care too much for my Iphone, but the Ipad looks like the best tablet option right now. However, I don't want just a bigger Iphone.

The iPad doesn't yet do enough to justify its purchase (though we have 3 of them in my household  Grin), but they are "cool" and Apple Apps are taking over.  As I've posted before, it's high time for chess publishers to get with the program and bring their products into the 21st century (you listening New in Chess, Gambit and Quality Chess?  Chessbase too, but to a lesser degree).  Getting off the pedestal now.

Generally, chess apps for iPad are pretty disappointing IMO...there's so much untapped potential..

It's time Chessbase updated itself to the Apple world; everyone in my family has an Apple laptop (not to mention iPhones, iPads, iPods, etc.) except me who has a Dell because most chess software does not run on Mac OS.  I have many Everyman eBooks but the older ones are all cbv so they don't run on Mac OS (the new ones are released as cbv and pgn).

At least on Iphone, it only does PGN, unfortunately.

I been meaning to buy a tablet, but am not sure. Is there any app for a tablet, be it Ipad or any other, that can display CBH-files? Also, same question for the Chessbase videos? If not, I'll skip a tablet for now.
