Here's a link to some demonstration pages of Kindermann and Dirr's work.

The twocolorprint looks especially slick!

Thanks, and apologies. I will try and remember not to post when half asleep in future.

To compound my crime by going slightly off topic: the line was recommended in Marovic and Parma's "An Opening Repertoire for Black" (1978). They gave it three illustrative games -- from 1962, 1958 and 1973. Those were the days.

This book is basically the best chess book I've ever read.
Little bit OT:
If the authors (or the publishing company) would have been a little bit better in business things, they would have published it in english years ago. Success is guaranteed IMHO.
But ok ...  Wink

And, never mind the content, the production values on it are quite astonishing by the standards of chess books. Which must I think be a real obstacle cf English editions.

Then, bad news..because this german-written book is excellent (for content and nice design with photos,history...). I was sooo happy to buy and read it (especially because I play the oo-Winawer  Smiley  and because Kindermann was first GM I read lines/comments about it in old montly Europe Echecs).

I asked the publisher a couple of months ago.
There are no plans for a second volume.
I wouldn't know about a reworked first volume though.

About 10 years Kindermann and Dirr wrote a book on Winawer (7. Qg4 O-O line) in German. The book is labeled as Volume 1 so does anyone have any information whether a second volume is in the works? Are there plans for a translated and updated version of the  first volume?
