Well, it doesn't quite work that quickly for me. I have to download the pgn file and then open it. If I use open then IE just shows the pgn as text-file, in the IE window.
Not a big hassle....just would have been nice  Cool

Have you tried associating .pgn files with Chessbase or another viewer program? just right click a pgn file in an Explorer and that option should appear (under "Open with" or "Properties" I think).

When I find a game in the Archive that I want to see immediately I click on 'pgn file' under 'Download' and then 'Open' (in MSIE) which opens the PGN file immediately in ChessBase. In fact it takes about a second to see the game like this - do we really need a viewer?

Game viewer in archive?

I am a subscriber and find the monthly updates very easy to use, since each game can be viewed in a pop-up game viewer.

Now, sometimes I look for specific games in the archvies and when I find them via the search I only see the option to download pgn file. Not open in a game viewer. I find this annoying. Is it possible to amend this?
