If you trust 1. c4 e5 2. Nc3 Bb4 (which i don't) then it's fine.

What is the problem with this repertoire draft from Black's point of view?

1.c4 e5
     2.Nc3 Bb4
           3.g3 Bxc3
           3.Nd5 Be7
     2.g3 c6
           3.d4 Bb4+ 4.Bd2 Bxd2+ 5.Qxd2 d6
           3.Nf3 e4 4.Nd4 d5 5.cxd5 Qxd5
           3.Bg2/Nc3 d5

(There is Keres Defence in it.)

as
*W 1d4) Torre/Barry/Pirc/Philidor/ early _d5:early c4(QGD/Slav/QGD/etc)
*B) 1e4:e6 [+1_c5 2Nf3 a6]| 1d4:e6 2c4 Bb4+ BID/pseudoNID [+1_Nf6 NID]| 1c4:c5,_Nc6,_e5,_g6| 1Nf3:c5

Very much off topic: Although I've seen it several times, I haven't yet managed to figure out the meaning of "OP" - please give a hint!  Smiley

Thanks!

the recommendations for White after this, by our Tony,
I always recommended avoiding putting the knight on c3 too early!

Well, that is true! I meant that after the continuation OP had been struggling with, it does look like a poor Tarrasch. I thought this position had been mentioned by all of you, but maybe I missed something (no board or books checked)?

Edit: Nevermind, I realized White is supposed to play cxd5 earlier, instead of putting the knight on c3.

Indeed! See my game against Gawain in one of the recent Flank updates! Wink

What is the current status of 1.c4 e5 2.Nc3 Nf6 3.g3 c6 4.Bg2 d5 5.d4 ?  been struggling with exd4 6.Qxd4 Be6 7.cxd5 cxd5 8.Bg5
I think I lost a game as Black in this line 20 years ago, but I must have analysed it on the site - isn't there a Keres page somewhere?

poor for white or for black?

According to Watson, the critical test is 4. Nf3. That's why i play the Keres only after 2. g3 and 3. Bg2, that way i can play the safer Qxd5 after 1. c4 e5 2. g3 Nf6 3. Bg2 c6 4. Nf3 e4 5. Nd4 d5 6. exd5 Qxd5 and also the solid 1. c4 e5 2. g3 Nf6 3. Bg2 c6 4. d4 Bb4+, where Marin's suggestion doesn't promise White an advantage imo.

I don't know but it does seem to me like the recommendations for White after this, by our Tony, Marin and Davies, all look like a poor version of the Tarrasch.
