	I thing a player who plays the London system can play the caro-can with black against 1.e4 because they have simiral structures..

	As nowadays everybody seems to play 1.e4 e5 and i myself got tired playing 1.e4 e5 I am faced with the same question... After a relatively intense time of research I came to the conclusion that playing the Scandinavian with 3...Qd8 in a modern way as Nikola Djukic does and the QGA with 4...Bg4 are a perfect mostly theory avoiding match !

	I don't understand why this topic has been allowed to stand here. It belongs in "General Chess," doesn't it? My personal solution is that a "London player" should play 1...b6, which is about as much worse than 1...e5, 1...e6 or 1...c5 as 2.Bf4 is than 2.c4.

	Maybe a better poll could be what to play with white instead . Back to the topic, the C-K and slav duo fits well with London "mentality".

	Perhaps 1...c6 against almost everything ! I guess it may through White players of the Trompowsky. I can't really think of any drawbacks.

	A London player should play against : 1.e4 The caro-kann or the center counter because they are also to some extent practical defenses to 1.e4. 1.d4 The Slav. The London is like a slav reversed. Against 1.c4 it is not so clear what a London player should play. If he plays the Caro and the slav then of course he plays 1.c4. Not fearing 1.c4 c6 2. e4 when black just plays 2..d5 and gets a panov or "panovs little brother" (Houskas label) variaton. Against 1.Nf3 black should respond with 1...d5 trying to reach a slav or if white goes in for the Reti black plays the New York system which is actually a London reversed.

	A London player should play the Russian Defence. It is just as boring, only more theoretical.

	I did say queen bishop, right? Bc1 to f4 often retreats to h2 in the London. Besides, I never said he played it very well...

With black your queen bishop is buried on c8, with white it is often buried on h2. It doesn't seem too healthy to have a black queen buried on your h2 square. I would guess the King is the one that's really buried in that case.
