Ah, 7.dxc5, yes I guess every opening has its "sleepy Grandpa".

On topic, Black just has to tough it out against 7.dxc5 and show that he understands those positions better than his opponent does. Such is chess.

The big threat is 3.e4, I think.

Possibly 1.d4 d5 2.c4 dxc4 3.Nf3 Nf6 4.e3 e6 5.Bxc4 c5 6.O-O a6 7.dxc5.

As for your question: concerning corr. chess I'm prepared, yes. But I won't claim I have refuted the QGA or something like that.

1-0 alas; my opponent passed away.

Are you really prepared for the QGA

This opening really seems to be ideal for amateur play(sub 2400 elo), which is 99% of the chess community. When I say Ideal I am implying that it seems that many white players just aren't prepared for this opening. Obviously, the QGA isn't that popular, so being thoroughly prepared for it is just not pragmatic. However, one needs to know a few good ideas right?

Here is a game that was played in the US chess league. White, an FM, can't even make it out of the opening against the QGA.

(27) Eckert-STL (2240) - Pruess-SF (2414) [D26]
ICC 75 30 u Internet Chess Club, 31.08.2011

1.d4 d5 2.c4 dxc4 3.Nf3 Nf6 4.e3 e6 5.Bxc4 a6 6.0-0 b5 7.Bb3 Bb7 8.a4 b4 9.a5 Nbd7 10.Nbd2 Be7 11.Qe2 c5 12.Ne5 0-0 13.Ndc4 Rc8 14.Rd1 Qc7 15.Ba4 cxd4 16.exd4 Nxe5 17.Nxe5 Qxa5 18.Bg5 Qd5 19.f3 Rfd8 20.Qe3 Ng4 21.Nxg4 Bxg5 22.Qd3 h5 23.Bb3 Qd6 24.Nf2 Bf6 25.d5 exd5 26.Rd2 Be5 27.g3 h4 28.f4 Bf6 29.Ng4 Qb6+ 30.Kf1 a5 31.Qf5 Bc3 32.bxc3 bxc3 33.Bc2 cxd2 34.Qh7+ Kf8 35.Qh8+ Ke7 36.Qxh4+ Kd6 37.Qh7 Qb2 38.Rb1 Qxb1+ White resigns 0-1

This is just one example, and im not sure it is a very good example. Black actually played what my database calls a sideline in 6..b5 and  7...Bb7.

Why isn't this opening more popular? Complex positions come about pretty easily. There doesn't appear to be more theory than any other main line opening. These all seem like pluses to me.

I do recall one line where the c and d pawns are exchanged and both sides have a symmetrical position that a lot of people believe is boring. Anyone know what I am talking about or have i had too many biscuits.
