Sounds great, but my only concern is 192 pgs seems quite short for a White repertoire book.

Every single time someone mentions a new Everyman book, someone points out that 192 pages is too short.  Every single time.  We should all know by now that Everyman lists every unreleased book as 192 pages, and that some of them end up being close to 400 pages.

Congrats and good luck, Bryan!

Thanks everyone.

It's an interesting task to get an ambitious 1. Nf3 repertoire covered in one book, and I'm trying to put an emphasis on explanations where I feel overall understanding is important, whereas in strictly tactical situations they aren't as forthcoming. I sincerely hope that I manage to hit all important sidelines, but undoubtedly there will be sidelines here and there that miss mentioning due to space concerns. John Emms has been fantastic in guiding the whole process.

I'm trying quite hard to recommend critical continuations against the major black defenses, and will explain the motivations behind my decisions in each chapter in situations where there appears to be lines of approximately equal worth. The book is very "main-line orientated", with a couple scattered exceptions. This has, unfortunately, slowed progress when certain openings produce major difficulty in finding anything I feel comfortable recommending. John has been gracious in handling my slow/fast pace.

If anyone has questions, I'd be glad to answer them within reason.  Wink

@Roger Williamson:

I'm amazed anyone remembers my old Blockade handle from the USCL days. Grin

Congrats, BPaulsen.

The book had the effect good books usually have: it made the stupids more stupid, the intelligent more intelligent and the other thousands of readers remained unchanged.

Sounds great, but my only concern is 192 pgs seems quite short for a White repertoire book. Hopefully everyman aren't strict on this and it may goto like 300pgs, which I'd feel more comfortable buying. Also will the book be in the ABC format or games?

As far as I know 192 pages means "we have no clue how many pages yet", so we have to wait and see how long it will really get.
