OK I stuck a 'Like' button on the latest Open Sicilian update. I would welcome any thoughts (like where would be the best place to put it!) Wink

Thanks, looks easy enough to implement. I might have a go at adding a like button to a few pages to see the reaction.

Sure; here is a recent example in the news:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-16425043

At the top of the article, there are icons to link to networking sites, and again at the end, in the "Share this Page" section...

And here is one from a magazine:

http://www.economist.com/node/21542397

Again, you can see the options to share or like at the beginning and end of the article. This one also records the number of likes or tweets, which could be useful?

Hope that helps,
M

Hi,
A lot of websites these days are adding the ability to "like" pages or share to various networking sites, e.g. LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc.

Sounds like a reasonable idea, can you give me a couple of examples so I can see how other sites implement this?

Hi,
A lot of websites these days are adding the ability to "like" pages or share to various networking sites, e.g. LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
A couple of benefits are that it is an inexpensive way to increase the presence of the site and it allows the moderators to gain an insight on what articles are proving popular.
