If you mean theroetically speaking, there has hardly been any books on the subject for ages! I think that latest book was realiced in 1998. There is of course Schikovs discs from 2008 but there ares some improvments in some lines. However, there has been lots of Catalan repertour books for white when Bb4+ transposes in most cases. GM Makarov is supposed to be writting a book at Bogo Indian and a book at Nimzo Indian but there has been many delays.

When I looked at chessgames.com's section on the Bogo Indian(E11), Ulf Anderson had over 100 games with it. My concern( this might be silly, but I'm not sure) was that most of these games have been played a long time ago and theory has moved on. However Ulf usually plays positionally correct so that might not be true. Thoughts?

I think I missread the question first. Black can play lots of differnet structures depending on whites reply. The posiiton can become everything from Dutch like to QID like to QGB like to pawn at d6 and e5. There are no such thing a best structure it a matter of taste.

Personally after Bd2 I usually goes for Qe7 and a d6 + e5 pawns structures. It is very solid but might not suit everyone. Black can also plays pawn at d5 for example. I know that black sometimes preferces a5 or c5 instead. Ulf Andersson has played Bxd2 a lot and Be7!? is also an option.

After Nd2 I play b6 with dynamcial chanses.

Nc3 is Nimzo Indian where I prefere b6.

It does make sense, but there are plenty of examples of openings named after somebody than the real "originator", or someone who didn't play the opening much at all.

Can anyone tell me some strong players that have played the bogo indian quite a bit, i.e. have it as a main part of their repertoire.

Also, I was clicking through chessgames.com database of games played with the bogo indian and looking at random games played by strong players. It like every game I clicked on some GM was doing something different very early on. It was like there was no consensus on what move order black should play or what plan(pawn structure he should aim for).
